Wild in Britain

The Wild in Britain website at www.wildinbritain.co.uk was originally written by my son, Simon Frogley. It incorporated his first website, on glowworms in Britain, which had been written when he was 13. Between the ages of 13 and 16, Simon won several awards for his envrionmental work, including Young Environmentalist of the Year in 2003, and Senior Young Environmental Champion in the International awards of 2006.

Now 18, Simon's interests still revolve around the British countryside. He rides and drives ponies and horses, keeps sheep and traditional breeds of poultry, and has a passion for vintage tractors and their renovation. As his spare time has decreased, I will be helping to maintain the website during 2008. Originally it was written "For teenagers, by a teenager", but as time has gone by, it has been aimed at an older audience. This will continue to be the case, as the site aims to help "A" level and degree students in the coming year. Our younger visitors will soon be directed to their own site, a "sister" site to Wild in Britain - Young Nature Lovers. Look out for news of it online soon!

This Blogspot is aimed at increasing our knowledge of British wildlife. It will contain tips for you to help wildlife, as well as news of UK habitats and species. Please email your sightings and news, for inclusion!
